LAURIE CHRISTENSEN, Senior Associate
A professional writer for 30 years, Laurie Anne Christensen has spent the past 10 years working as a Marketing Consultant, specializing in marketing, public relations, media relations, advertising and graphic design for a variety of companies, including hospitals, medical doctors, nursing agencies, home care agencies, restaurants, art galleries and other businesses. She is the former publisher and owner of Business Digest of Greater Bridgeport, and has worked extensively with privately and publicly owned businesses, not-for-profit entities and a wide variety of state agencies, including the governor’s office. She previously worked for several prominent ad agencies, as a reporter for The Acorn Press newspapers for many years, and as a freelance writer for the Danbury News-Times.
TOM URTZ, Special Projects Manager
For over 20 years Tom has addressed healthcare issues from a strategic planning, communications, marketing and media relations perspective. Tom’s efforts have garnered multiple national and regional awards for writing, public relations and marketing strategy. His creation – "Now I Know Better: Kids Tell Kids About Safety," was tabbed as the top healthcare public relations campaign in the country. Tom spent a dozen years directing the public relations efforts for Yale-New Haven Hospital and handles all marketing and communications activities for Valley Health, an integrated healthcare system in Virginia. He is a Contributing Editor with Strategic Health Care Marketing and a frequent writer on communications and marketing issues. Tom's perspective and strategic insights have benefited numerous 2010 Marketing clients over the last five years.
BARBARA KATZ, Special Projects
Barbara is a training consultant with over 20 years experience in management, training and organizational development. Her experience includes healthcare management, training, and customer relations. She has taught management and supervision, teambuilding, quality improvement and communication skills in health care, service industries and manufacturing. She is an experienced group facilitator and team builder. She is the author of the book "Problem Solving for Health Care Quality Improvement." Katz holds a masters degree from Yale and a certificate in Training and Organizational Development from Fairfield University.
PATRICIA WARREN, Chief Operating Officer
Pat has extensive office management experience, having worked for several multinational firms in a variety of roles. For 2010 MARKETING she handles finances, office coordination, contracts and communications.
